I never thought I'd say this, but I MADE A VIDEO!!!! A some-what professional looking video! iMovie had always seemed so complicated and overwhelming, but after many trial and errors, I'd say I have it down!
This week I did make some changes to the audio. I could have played around with that all day! With the fade in and fade out, I tried to tweak it until it was perfect. But again, it felt like I could have kept tweaking it to make it better and better! It felt very rewarding to add my video to my website - as it meant my video was complete, and it was the final piece of the puzzle to complete my website!

This week, I continued my video journey. I have been working in iMovie. While I have worked with this program before, I have never worked with it SO MUCH, and at the same DEPTH. I have learned SO MUCH... Often, I encounter an issue/problem (EX: "How do I fade audio music from one song to the next?"), and search through iMovie looking for an answer. More times than not, I can't find the answer on my own, so I turn to Google. From there, I read articles or watch videos in order to learn. Then, I can apply it to my video. I am getting much faster at the program now :) My biggest dilemma as I wrap up my video - is how can I shorten it? My video is about 2 minutes long, which is 30 seconds over. Any suggestions on where to cut? Where to start..... I decided to make a storyboard, and just realized today that it is not in the right format (I used slides), so I will need to revisit that. *REVISION: Alright, 20 minutes later, I have figured out a way to make my slides work! In presenter view on Google Slides, I downloaded my slides into powerpoint. From there, I can view all slides on one page! Beats having to scroll through the slides, or having to recreate it using the templates :) Check it out:
I think I have figured out how I want my video to look. I would really like to use the video to draw people into my website. One large dilemma I have is - Is that what our video is supposed to be? A way to draw people into our websites?
I watched some of the example videos, but they were between 3-5 minutes, and we have a minute and a half! So, I'm struggling trying to figure out how to condense my information into that short amount of time. I am thinking about using iMovie, because I think that I can use what I learn about the program in order to help my students use it in class. Although, I have a lot to learn, and a 1 hour tutorial video to watch - so, until next blog! |
